Terms of Service

Welcome to Gauntlet Golf. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Gauntlet Golf mobile application (the "App") operated by Gauntlet Golf ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

2. Account Registration

To use the App, you must create an account using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep your account information current.

You may not create multiple accounts, impersonate another person, or use another person's account without their permission.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App in a manner that is lawful, respectful, and consistent with its intended purpose as a golf scoring and course management tool. You may not:

• Submit false or intentionally inaccurate scores, statistics, or handicap information
• Manipulate scoring, standings, or league results
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App's systems or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App

4. GPS and Distance Information

The App provides GPS-based distance measurements and course information for informational and recreational purposes only. Distance calculations are approximate and depend on GPS signal quality, satellite availability, and your device's hardware capabilities.

You acknowledge and agree that:

• GPS distances are estimates and may not be perfectly accurate
• You are solely responsible for your decisions and safety on the golf course
• The App is not a substitute for awareness of your surroundings, course conditions, or safety practices
• We are not liable for any injury, property damage, or other harm arising from reliance on GPS data provided by the App

5. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, logos, and content, is owned by Gauntlet Golf and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written consent.

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the App (such as scores, feedback, and uploaded images). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and process that content as necessary to provide the App's services.

6. Account Termination

By you: You may delete your account at any time through the App's Settings or by contacting support@gauntletgolf.com. See our Privacy Policy for details on data deletion.

By us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or abuse the App. Where possible, we will provide notice before termination. In cases of severe violations, we may terminate your account immediately without notice.

7. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times, be free of errors, or that GPS data will be accurate. We make no representations about the suitability of the App for tournament play governed by the Rules of Golf unless explicitly supported.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Gauntlet Golf and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App, including but not limited to:

• Errors in GPS distance calculations
• Loss of score data or statistics
• Interruptions in service or inability to access the App
• Decisions made based on information provided by the App

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty dollars ($50), whichever is greater.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gauntlet Golf from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Illinois.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and may notify you through the App or by email.

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the App and delete your account.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

13. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Gauntlet Golf regarding your use of the App.
